My study on Monday nights in 602 have gone very well.  I had this one Marine "T" who is quite mature even though he only came to Christ about two years ago.  He is currently on a medical hold and does not know when he will be approved to continue in his schooling.  This is sad for him, but quite happy for me as I will get to know him more than I get to know most others.
We have been studying Philippians in both our Monday and Tuesday night studies.  This week I had five new people in my Tuesday study along with a few regular folks.  One new guy, Marine "J" who came by the request of one of his roommates was there - he was not a believer but believes the has everything sorted out in his mind.

As I was explaining some of the lesson to those who had not been there before, I began to explain the history of all of creation, man being created in the image of God, and then eating of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and his sin and our sin consequentially.  I always ask them, "Why did God put the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden and tell Adam not to eat of it - or die?"  I always get the answer, "It was a test by God to see what Adam and Eve would do."  I began to explain to them that God knows Good and Evil - but He is God and always does what is righteous and good.  We were created in God's image - we were not created little gods - but we had to have the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in our presence in the garden to maintain our status as images of God.  Marine "J" stirred in his seat sitting straight up and said, "Whoa!  You just blew my mind!  I've never heard of that or even thought of that before."
It is always exciting when you see that happen.  It is encouraging to see some Marines answer questions and use scripture rightly, and at the same time get lost people seeking for help and a prayer.  We take advantage of every moment, knowing that God will draw their hearts - we just need to obey Him.
Thank you for your prayer and support for our ministry down here in Pensacola.
