MARINE CORPS - NAS Pensacola
These Marines come to my Bible Study every Tuesday night in the barracks. They are eager, listen, ask great questions, participate, and are not ashamed at not knowing or understanding something. What a gift to be given such young enthusiasts who desire to grow and know the Lord while they are learning their trade with the Marine Corps. It has been incredibly encouraging to weekly enter the barracks with the Word of God and cookies from Julie.
God has called us to work with the military servicemen here in the States now, and we are trusting Him to complete His desire for our lives as He sees fit.
I have a great opportunity be involved with these guys even on Saturday leading them in some discipleship, talking, praying, reading scripture and having coffee. Please pray for these guys as they will soon leave from here to go on to another station within the next few weeks to a few months.

Christmas time has arrived here in Tennessee with all of its hustle and bustle, sales extravaganzas, and opportunities for feeding around a table of treats and goodies. Family has been visited, and family has visited - memories recalled, laughter shared, gifts exchanged, great talks and updates granted, warm hugs given and peace was felt in my heart all along the way. Yet - so many people never feel this way and ache so often at the thought of most or any of these. It truly is a very blessed year, this 2013, even though many events along the way were hard, difficult, confusing, and frustrating. As this year is nearing it's close, I am grateful for the promise of Jesus Christ my Savior and Lord. In Him I find trust, rest, and peace because of the work He did upon the cross at Calvary - not upon any of my own efforts and strivings toward what I think is good or right. He alone receives the glory for what is fulfilled in my life by God's design. I wish you all the blessings of Christ this Christmas Holiday.
Have a Merry Christmas & and Happy New Year everyone.
Missions and Vision for Eastern Europe
The summer has been very good with the internship at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. House concerts were done, local missions carried out, and now the internship is over - - well - except that I have been asked to continue the work through the end of May 2014. As I will continue, Julie and I are leaving September 19 for Eastern Europe to be with Josiah Venture, a mission organization reaching the young generation (up to 30) in Eastern Europe. We are very excited to check this out and see what the Lord is doing in the hearts of those who are His in Eastern Europe.
Summer in Franklin, TN - June-August 2013
This summer I am here in Franklin, TN working for Cornerstone Presbyterian Church (my home church) as an intern working on discovering ministry opportunities and outreach in the local city. I will be doing Home Fellowship Group (HFG) house concerts and presenting these potential ministries and helping to bridge other ministries within the church together. Please pray that the Lord will open wide our hearts and move within us for His glory.
I will be continuing with leading the Truth Project for the High School group and discipling students in the Word.
Ft Sill, Oklahoma - May 1-5, 2013
I just returned home from a week of ministry at Ft Sill in Oklahoma. It was a first-time visit to the post, and I believe that it was successful. I worked with Chaplain Jerrod Glenn who I had first met and worked with in Kaiserslautern, Germany. We did prayer breakfasts, worked with the WTU (Warrior Transition Unit), the hospital staff, youth, PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel), basic trainees chapel, AIT (Advanced Infantry Training) Bible study and more. It was definitely a great encouragement.
What the Future Holds for Dan
Life takes its dips and turns, and coming back from Iraq was no call for anything different. Things are going well - but I am simply striving to continue the path of music and learning greater obedience to the Lord as I serve. I just came back from Kansas and Pennsylvania working with the Military at Ft Leavenworth and leading worship at an ROTC Conference at White Sulphur Springs with General Van Antwerp.
Ft Leavenworth, Kansas - February 12-19, 2013
Dan will be playing on Ft Leavenworth base throughout the entire week! Come and join him for the concert ministry!
Check out the TOUR page for concerts and dates!
Recent VIN Video in Kurdistan (Region to the north of Iraq)
As the second semester of last year's school year adventure in Kurdistan began, Dan met a fellow teacher whose brother owned a studio. Mohamed was a very talented man who thought outside of the box regarding Kurdish music. Dan got acquainted with him and wrote and recorded the final lines of the song which was recorded by a couple of Kurdistan's finest artists, Karwan Kamil & Chopy Fetah. Check it out in the right column.
